Why we’re giving it away free
- We don’t want to be course sellers
Those who can’t do, teach - and we’re way too busy doing to do something like that. Paid courses are someone else’s business model. We’re a media management company – we represent talent and manage founder content programmes end-to-end. Putting a $1,997 “enroll now” page on the site would distort the entire commercial logic of what we do. We’d start optimising for course conversion instead of for actually building careers, and the course would slowly become worse as we tried to upsell from inside it.
The cleanest version is this: take everything we know, give it to anyone who wants it, and let the founders who want it managed end-to-end find their way to us. That funnel is shorter and more honest than any paid-course funnel.
- Displacement as strategy
Skillshare is around $168 a year. MasterClass is around $180. Most “short-form gurus” sell $497 to $2,000 courses with a fraction of the content and zero proprietary frameworks – mostly recycled TikTok screenshots and “post three times daily.”
If you can get the actual mechanics – taught by someone who runs the channels – for free, the paid courses become a strange purchase. That’s the point. We’d rather every founder learning short-form starts here than gives $2,000 to someone teaching them to copy a trend they saw last Tuesday.
